SIDE-BY-SIDE™ Readers

Accidents happen. But Nobody, the new horse at the ranch, seems to have more than his share—although, he always has a good reason for why the “uh-oh” occurs. Follow the exploits of Nobody and his friends, an Australian Blue Heeler named Yotey, and a delightful (but slightly overweight) donkey named Simon. Then, of course, there’s Nobody’s best friend, Cowboy Randy.

After retiring from teaching for 28 years, Elaine began private tutoring children with dyslexia and other reading challenges. She discovered a shortage of books designed for these needs, especially books that incorporated the use of phonics so she began writing stories for her students. It became apparent that other children needed these stories which could be available commercially to parents, teachers, and tutors. To fill the gap, Elaine developed the SIDE-BY-SIDE ReadersTM. A link to SoundCloud with the audio is included inside these books which makes it possible for a child to learn without adult assistance. A CD can also be special ordered.

A Horse Named Nobody is the first in the series of the SIDE-BY-SIDE ReadersTM designed especially to help dyslexic and reluctant readers by enhancing phonics skills. Even parents and tutors with little or no training in phonics can help their child read.

Upcoming titles in the SIDE-BY-SIDE ReaderTM series: Yotey, The Awesome Aussie and Simon, The Singing Donkey.
